E-LAB CHALLENGES
Challenge 1
​This was a scavenger hunt where we were tested on how well we know the ALU campus as well as our ability to effectively work in a team. We scored a total point of 1200 out of 1500 available points.
Challenge 2
This was an introduction challenge where each team member made a 30s elevator pitch on what they are passionate about, why, and what they want to do to solve it, as well as what they bring to the team. We had 980 out of 1,000 points.
Challenge 3
For this challenge, we discovered and shared the untold story of Burudian legendary Antime Baranshakaje, well-known for drum beating. We had a total of 1400 out of 1500 points.
Challenge 4
We visited the Mai-childhood academy at Gisimba to engage the kids in digital literacy. It was a very rewarding session getting to interact, play and learn with the kids. We got 2,000 points out of 2,000.
Challenge 5
​Our team of seven (7) visited the streets of Kisimenti in Kigali to "Hunt" for M.T.N./Airtel Mobile Money agents. The aim was to interview at least 10 of them to learn about the different factors influencing their earnings, access their responses to find any connection among the factors and then provide recommendations.
Challenge 6
Exceeding ExpectationsfFor this Challenge, we were awarded a grant of $1,000,000 (hypothetically) to launch our mission. We gave an overview of our solution and a detailed budget on how we are going to yutilize the funds. We scored 2000 points out of 2,000.
Challenge 7
Well-done for following us to this point! This last challenge is for us to create a website to showcase our E-lab journey and you are looking right at it. While we are waiting for our points from E-lab, what would you grade us out of 5,000?
